Srinagar June 01 (KNO) : Terming the prevailing situation in state worrisome and grim, Hurriyat conference today in a statement said that in presence of 7 lakh Indian forces, SOG and police force, the people are living a miserable life and under constant threat.

People in state are facing horrendous situations, un-proportionate military might, detentions, desecration of religious places and unabated killings, Hurriyat said and added the whole state is in a grip of turmoil and violence has become a daily occurrence. APHC while supporting the shutdown on June 02, called by JRL, said that we through peaceful means convey our feelings and represent people’s aspirations and their sentiments. Haling the sacrifices laid by nation, Hurriyat said we will never succumb to pressure and added sacrifices laid by nation won’t go waste and nobody will be allowed to play with their sacrifices, saying we will pursue our cherished mission till it is taken to its logical conclusion.

Referring to civilian properties set ablaze by brutal forces in Kakpora Pulwama, Hurriyat said killing, loot, plunder, vandalising properties of civilians and brave hearts, chopping fruit trees has become vulnerable and human rights bodies are not allowed to take notice of this. Hurriyat said that authorities barred Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani from offering Friday prayers, saying it is brazen interference in religious matters.
